Newsletter Spring term 2020
Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely half-term break.
This term we will be talking to the children about their interests and planning around them.
We will have our Maths week this week to develop and improve skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems and exploring shape, space and measure and positional language.
We will enjoy observing different changes in the garden over the coming spring months and spending lots of time out there watching plants and trees grow.
Key Person Groups
There will be an opportunity this half-term to get together with your child’s Key person and discuss their progress. Please make an appointment for this. Each Key person is free for a week for these appointments starting with Asia week beginning 2nd March. Please check with your Key person.
It is book week next week. We will be sharing stories and books all week please bring your favourite book from home to share if you would like. On Friday 6th March please come dressed in your pyjamas so we can celebrate world book day and read bedtime stories together.
As usual we go out into the garden every day whatever the weather, please make sure your child is dressed warmly and in clothes you do not mind getting muddy!! We assume if your child is well enough to attend preschool that they are well enough to go outside for a little while.
Please help your child to recognise their own coat (write their name on the inside label too).
We are encouraging the children to have some self-help skills.
If your child comes to preschool in welly boots please provide some indoor shoes, to keep our carpets clean. Thank you
Sickness and diarrhoea
We have had lots of cases where children have been bought to preschool whilst they have been unwell. May we remind you that if your child has sickness or diarrhoea, they must not attend preschool and can return 48 hours after the last bout.
We use lots of wet wipes at preschool and lots of tissues please supply one box of each per half-term. We use hypo-allergenic, biodegradable wet wipes and value tissues. Thank you.
We are very lucky at Magdalene to have an off-road parking area, most schools do not have this facility; however, we do all need to park considerately so we make the best use of the space.
Please do not park (or leave your car for a few minutes) in the Vicarage drive at any time, it is always in constant use. It is the driveway to the right when facing the Church.
Lorraine has decided to step down as Deputy Manager. Asia has been appointed as our new Deputy and will take on this role from 24th February.
