Newsletter Autumn 2019
Welcome back from a very rainy half-term break. We are really looking forward to a busy term.
We will be supporting the children with moving around independently and safely, choosing their own activities and interacting with a range of resources.
We will be concentrating on ‘sharing’ and ‘turn taking’, learning to listen when others are speaking and then taking your turn to speak.
As the weather changes they will learn to choose wellington boots to go into the garden and put on their shoes by themselves when they come back inside. Please help them with this self-help skill at home.
Please encourage your child to recognise and try to put on their own coat.
Those children staying for lunch will be supported to get to know the new routine.
It is our policy to play outside every day, whatever the weather, please ensure your child is dressed in suitable clothes and in clothes that you do not mind getting muddy and dirty.
PLEASE WRITE YOUR CHILD’S NAME INSIDE THEIR COATS TO HELP US!!!
If your child comes to pre-school in boots or wellington boots they will need a pair of indoor shoes to change into to keep our carpets clean and use equipment safely. Thank you
Information for the day to day running of preschool can be found on our website.
Key Person appointments
There will be an opportunity for you to make an appointment with your Key person to discuss your child’s progress and folders.
Each Key person will be available alternately for a week. Please speak to your Key person to arrange an appointment.
It will be written on the board each week which Key person is available.
Drop off and Collection time
You must collect your child at the time they are allocated, if you are not collecting your child yourself you must let your Key person know who will be collecting that day. In an emergency we cannot accept alternative collection arrangements by text message, please telephone and speak to a member of staff.
Please drop your child off as punctually as possible, we have a soft start from 9.00am onwards. The children are not considered late until after 9.30am. Many thanks
Date for your Diary
Our ‘Tea towels and Tinsel’ Nativity service is on Wednesday 18th December at 10.30 am until approx. 11.30am in Church.
It is a lovely way to start the Christmas holiday period and everyone is warmly invited to come and join in, mummies, daddies, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends.
More details nearer the time.
We use lots of wet wipes at preschool and lots of tissues please supply one box of each per half-term. We use hypo-allergenic, biodegradable wet wipes and value tissues. Thank you.
We are very lucky at Magdalene to have an off road parking area, many schools do not have this facility but we do all need to park considerately so that we make the best use of the space. Please do not park (or leave your car for a few minutes) in the Vicarage drive at any time it is always in constant use (this is the drive to your right when facing the Church) Thank you.
