Newsletter Spring term 2020
Welcome back and a very Happy New Year to everyone, we do hope you had a good Christmas break. The Nativity performance was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Thank you for all the Christmas cards, presents and chocolates we received.
We are looking forward to a busy term. We will be having a Maths week to develop and improve skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems and exploring shape, space and measure.
We will explore the changes taking place in the garden and the weather.
We will also be nurturing our love of books and stories, bring favourite books into preschool to share and if any of our lovely parents would like to share an hour of their time you are always welcome to come in and reads with us.
We go out into the garden daily whatever the weather, to ‘explore’, use the wheeled toys and mud kitchen or just run, the children love it, please make sure your child is dressed warmly and in clothes you do not mind getting muddy!! We have some weather proof suits the children can wear and umbrellas for walks in the rain. We assume if your child is well enough to attend preschool that they are well enough to go outside for a little while.
It is also very helpful if your child can recognise their own coat (please write their name on the inside label too).
We are encouraging the children to have some self-help skills, such as managing to find and put on their own coat, this is something you can help them with at home too.
If your child comes to preschool in boots please provide some indoor shoes, to keep our carpets clean. Thank you
Sickness and diarrhoea
May we remind you that if your child has sickness or diarrhoea they must not attend preschool for 48 hours after the last bout. Many thanks Do Not bring your child to preschool if they are unwell!!!
When your child is at preschool please be sure we are able to get hold of you or someone significant in case they become unwell. . .
Lunch Club Information
The children love joining in and sharing lunch time together. All 15 hour funded children can stay for lunch if you wish at a fee of £5.50 and a healthy packed lunch provided by you. Lunch club is 12noon until 1.00pm. Please do not provide NUTS of any description (including Nutella) sweets, chocolate bars, fizzy drinks or soft drinks. All drinks are provided by us. Please ensure fruit etc is cut into safe size bites for example grapes to be cut in half lengthways, carrots into sticks, this is to promote safe eating in terms of choking hazards. Many thanks
We use lots of wet wipes at preschool and lots of tissues please supply one box of each per half-term. We use hypo-allergenic, biodegradable wet wipes and value tissues. Thank you.
We are very lucky at Magdalene to have an off road parking area, most schools do not have this facility; however, we do all need to park considerately so we make the best use of the space.
Please do not park (or leave your car for a few minutes) in the Vicarage drive at any time, it is always in constant use. It is the driveway to the right when facing the Church. Thank you.
