Magdalene Preschool Newsletter Summer term 2020
Hi everyone and welcome back to all the children who have already returned, and we look forward to seeing the rest of you soon. It’s been an unusual few months for everyone, we hope our weekly newsletter has kept you busy.
Preschool is now looking different as we return for our final half term of the school year. We have made lots of adjustments and are confident that we can keep everyone safe. We are looking forward to a very busy term as usual. We will be outside as much as possible, exploring, running, sharing bikes, playing with water, and observing mini beats.
We will be talking about ourselves, what colour is our hair? How tall are we? Do we look like anybody else? How our differences are important to us. We will be concentrating on washing our hands and talking about how important self-hygiene is. We will be taking about different ways we show we care other than hugging.
Some children are preparing for ‘moving on to school’. You will be contacted via email regarding this so you can read your child’s transfer sheet and add comments. These will be forwarded to their next school. Unfortunately, we are unable to have face to face meetings this term.
End of term Friday 17th July
Due to the current situation, with regret we will not be able to have our normal end of term party. For those children who have returned to preschool we will have a small celebration with their group in their zones, we will have party music and party snacks. This will be a half day and we will let you know your drop off and collection times nearer the day.
As the weather gets warmer and we spend more time in the garden please ensure your child has sun protection, such as sunscreen and sun hat and suitable clothes. We always have water available for the children to drink.
Please make sure you apply sunscreen to your children before they come to preschool
Please remember when lining up to drop off or collect your child from preschool to observe the 2-metre social distancing rule and line up at the markers on the floor.
We are very lucky at Magdalene to have some off-road parking, many schools do not have this facility, however, we do all need to park considerately so that we make the best use of the space.
Please do not park (or leave your car for a few minutes) in the Vicarage drive at any time it is always in constant use. It is the drive on the right-hand side when facing the Church.
